I have had chiropractic work done in the past and have never had relief. The newer techniques learned and perfected by Dr. Armstrong have finally provided me with the relief chiropractors have always told me was possible. Her bedside manner is friendly yet professional creating a very comfortable atmosphere. If you're living in pain, thinking that nothing is able to help, Dr. Armstrong is my recommendation for giving you the relief you need.

Reduce Your Stress

Let's face it we all experiences stress on a daily basis. When internal or external stimuli that upset our normal functioning we react and unfortunately this can disturb mental or physical health. Some common sources of internal and external stress are illness, pain, or emotional and personal conflict, financial struggles, job or career issues, stress from friends and family or even worse a death in the family.  Positive experiences can also lead to stress for example a new marriage, baby, pet or job promotion can provoke stress. While it is quite normal for all of us to experience stress longer lasting or chronic stress will suppress our immune system, which in turn increase our risk of illness, especially to immune-related disorders or cancer. In addition emotional stress will lead to hormonal imbalances that can interfere with our immune system functions.

As a result there are several different types of therapies to help us reduce stress so that we can maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. For example diet and exercise, meditation, guided imagery, biofeedback, yoga, herbal medicine, acupuncture, acupressure, and chiropractic.   Each of these methods can be used by themselves or in combination with any other. The fact is that something needs to be done, something that will facilitate relaxation to reduce stress levels!

Here are a few tips that we share with our patients in Appleton and Menomonee Falls: Your diet; examine your diet and nutrient levels. Reduce stress by avoiding caffeine and food additives, and eat fresh, whole foods that are high in complex carbohydrates and that are low in fat. Consume very little foods containing simple sugars and when you do they should be fresh fruit. Eating the proper foods can impact your stress levels immediately. Exercise; a complete and balanced approach will work in making the body healthier, thus reducing overall stress. Create a plan to exercise everyday and stick to it! Education; education is the first step to controlling your health and stress levels. It's easy to take pills prescribed from your doctor, the sad fact is most prescription drugs don't heal a thing, they just allow us to continue destroying our bodies. While they are an easy solution to the problem at hand they are not a long term solution, because most drugs only alleviate our symptoms.  You must be responsible for your own health, and that may include changing you habits and lifestyle!

At Armstrong Chiropractic we use chiropractic methods, drug free and non-surgical, for our patients in Appleton and Menomonee Falls. While we look at the human body and give special attention to its physiological and biochemical aspects. Typical areas of concern for any chiropractor when examining a patient will include spinal or musculoskeletal structure, neurological activity, your vascular systems, and your nutrition habits. When you are experiencing stress remember chiropractors are first-contact physicians who will diagnose conditions that may be treatable through chiropractic care, in some cases diagnosis may require a referral to another health care professional or professionals, or co-managed treatments with other health care professionals.
